Question, Persuade, and Refer is a one-hour presentation that will teach you simple suicide prevention techniques. Much like CPR of the Heimlich maneuver, the use of QPR may save a life.

Mental Health First Aid (MHFA)
MHFA is an eight-hour skills-based training that teaches participants how to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental Illness & substance use disorders. We have a separete youth-focused training (YMHFA) designed for adults who regularly interact with youth to assist those who may be experiencing a mental health or addiction challenge or are in crisis.

Mental Health in the Workplace
A one-hour presentation that walks employers through strategies to support mental health in the workplace on both the micro and macro levels. This presentation is based on the Surgeon General’s Framework for Workplace Mental Health and Well-Being.

Ending the Silence
Ending the Silence program offers three presentations to choose from: one for middle and high school students, one for their parents/guardians, and one for school faculty/staff. Participants learn the warning signs of mental health conditions, discover strategies to improve mental health, and discuss the importance of open communication about mental health concerns.

Survivors of Suicide Loss (SOS)
When a loved one takes their own life, pain and confusion can be crippling for those they leave behind. SOS– Survivors of Suicide Loss is a support from to those grieving such a loss.

Survivors of Suicide Attempt (SOSA)
place for support, safety, and community. NAMI of McHenry County will be providing a free 8 week closed group led by counselors and a peer co-facilitator with lived experience.

Family Support
Family Support Group is for adult family members and friends who have a loved one with mental illness. NAMI trained certified facilitators provide peer support in a confidential, supportive setting where information, education, and experiences are shared.

Connection Support Group
NAMI Connection is a weekly support group, at no cost to you, where individuals with a mental health diagnosis can share experiences in a safe, confidential setting. NAMI-trained peer facilitators guide groups using a structured model to ensure all have the opportunity to be heard, supported, and encouraged without judgment. The group encourages empathy, productive discussion, and a sense of community.

If your organization would like to provide educational handouts for clients, or magnets for awareness, NAMI of McHenry County provides 988 material free of charge and can even deliver the materials to your organization or business. NAMI can provide magnets, posters, handouts, stickers, and more.

Safe2HelpIL is a 24/7 program developed by the State of Illinois where students can use a free app, text/phone, and website to share information on school safety issues in a confidential environment.
