Finding help after a suicide attempt
Your healing journey is one that many have traveled on before that you don’t have to walk on alone. Finding support is important on the healing journey. You don’t not have to go through this alone.
The Survivors of Suicide Attempt Support Group is here to help you through the journey and is led by counselors and a peer co-facilitator with lived experience.
Finding a therapist or other mental health provider can help you work through the feelings that lead to consider suicide. Be kind to yourself during this period of healing. You just survived a life-threatening health crisis and deserve to take your time to heal. Take care of your health. Healthy habits can have a huge impact on your health and mood. When you’re ready, talking to those you trust can help you heal and help you create a safety plan if you ever find yourself in crisis again. A safety plan can be used to recognize warnings signs and develop a plan to avoid crisis. Recognizing warning signs, identifying coping strategies to get through difficult thoughts, compiling a list of trusted support persons, and keeping your environment safe of lethal means can make all the difference when you’re in crisis.
