If you need to talk, the 988 lifeline is here to help, free of charge, and completely confidential.

The lifeline is available 24/7 for calling, texting, or chatting. There are also deaf and hard of hearing options.

988 offers various services, including support for individuals in distress, prevention and crisis support for you and/or loved ones, and best practices for professionals.

McHelp App

McHelp is a free anonymous app that allows you to confidentially talk or text to a licensed mental health professional. Trained counselors are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

McHelp is available for Apple and Android phones.

988 Lifeline & SAMHSA

The 988 Lifeline is overseen through the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Administration (SAMHSA). The 988 Lifeline offers 24/7 judgement free support for Veterans, Service Members, and Their Loved Ones, Spanish-Speakers, LGTBQIA+ Individuals, and Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing People. The 988 Lifeline can help an individual in crisis, or help support a friend or a loved one of someone in crisis.

American Foundation for Suicide Prevention

American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) is a National non-profit who’s mission is to save lives and brin hope to those affected by suicide. In addition to national resources, AFSP also has an Illinois Chapter that helps events, provides education and advocates for suicide prevention.
